This article explains how to manage the bank accounts your pay is deposited into in EmployeeXperience® (eX): viewing your accounts, adding one, changing the amount or order, and removing one.
On a computer: Pay > Direct Deposits
On a phone: tap Pay, then Direct Deposits
Reading Your Direct Deposits
For each account you see:
- Bank Name
- Order: the order your accounts are paid in, with arrows to change it
- Account #: the last digits of the account number
- Account Type: checking, savings or pay card
- Calculation Type and Calculation Amount: a fixed amount, a percent of your net pay, or the remainder
- Check Type, Start Date and End Date
- Status: Active, or Employer Review while your employer checks a new account
On a phone, each account is a card with its Edit and Remove buttons at the bottom.
NOTE: If there are no Add Direct Deposit, Edit or Remove buttons, your employer manages your direct deposits. Contact your payroll administrator to make a change.
Add an Account - Use Add Direct Deposit
- Click Add Direct Deposit.
- Read the note about the prenote test and employer approval, then click Continue.
- Enter the Routing Number and Account Number, each twice. The Employee Bank Name fills in from the routing number.
- Choose the Account Type.
- Choose the Calculation Type and enter the amount.
- Check the Direct Deposit Start Date. It's set to seven days from today.
- Click Save.
- Read the Terms & Conditions, tick I Accept these Terms and Conditions, and click Accept.
The new account appears at the top of the list with the status Employer Review. eX emails you that the account was added. When your employer approves it, its status changes to Active.
Important: Your pay keeps going to your existing accounts until the new one is approved and its start date has passed. If you're replacing an account, don't remove the old one until the new one is Active.
NOTE: You can have only one remainder account, the one that receives whatever is left after your other deposits. If you already have one, remainder isn't offered when you add an account.
Finding your routing and account numbers
Both are printed along the bottom of your checks, and the Create Direct Deposit page shows an example check. The routing number is nine digits, usually on the bottom left. The account number comes after it. Your bank can also give you both, often in its app or online banking.
Change the Amount - Use Edit
- Click Edit beside the account.
- Change the Account Type, Calculation Type or amount.
- Click Save.
You can't change an account's bank, routing number or account number. To use a different account, add it as a new one.
Change the Order - Use the Order Arrows
Click the up or down arrow in the Order column. Accounts are paid from the top of the list down. The remainder account always receives whatever is left.
Remove an Account - Use Remove
- Click Remove beside the account.
- Choose:
- Set End Date (selected for you): the account stops on the date you enter, which must be today or later
- Delete Immediately: the account stops now
- Click Ok.
Pro-Tip: Switching banks? Add the new account first, then set an end date on the old one a week or two away.
