This article explains how to view your tax withholding in EmployeeXperience® (eX), and how to ask your employer to change it by filling in a new federal W-4 or state withholding form on screen.
On a computer: Pay > Tax Profile
On a phone: tap Pay, then Tax Profile
Reading Your Tax Profile
- Tax Jurisdictions shows your Income Tax State (where your income tax is withheld for) and your Employment Tax State.
- Each tax has its own block, for example your state tax and Federal 941 Tax Attributes (your federal W-4). Current Values shows your current elections, such as filing status and any extra withholding.
- A Requested Changes block appears while a change you've asked for is waiting for your employer.
Ask to Change Your Withholding - Use Request Change
- Click Request Change on the tax you want to change. For your federal W-4, use the button on Federal 941 Tax Attributes.
- The form opens on screen. Download Blank Form & Instructions gives you the official form and its instructions.
- Fill in the form. The federal form follows the W-4 steps, with links to the Multiple Jobs and Deductions worksheets. Tick Exempt from withholding only if you qualify.
- Click Add Signature to sign. Clear Signature removes it.
- Click Save & Complete.
Your employer reviews the request before anything changes. Until then, your pay keeps using your current withholding, and the request shows under Requested Changes. A copy of your completed form is kept in Your Documents.
Pro-Tip: Download Completed Form saves a copy with your answers for your own records.
NOTE: If you don't see Request Change, your employer hasn't turned on tax changes in eX. Give your new form to your payroll administrator instead.
